Dover Form-Based Code Design Charrette – Dover, NH
Planning and Conceptual Design
LA participated in the two-day design charrette in collaboration with Chris Parker, City of Dover Planner, and JHT Planning out of Concord which later resulted in the integration of Form-based Code into the city’s ordinance. The charette focused on seven sites throughout the city. The goal of the code is to foster a more efficient density with mixed uses while building upon an urban streetscape.
Lassel Architects is dedicated to its surrounding communities and participates in both regional and local planning, environmental design, and economic development explorations/ solutions. Volunteer and charity participation and support have included regional workforce housing designs, participation with the Mill Pond Center for the Arts in Durham, New Hampshire, as well as urban planning solutions for Dover, New Hampshire and South Berwick, Maine’s downtown.

Urban Planning Design Process
Mike Lassel has participated in a number of community stewardship programs throughout the state as a member of a team or as a facilitator. He has worked in Wakefield, Rollinsford, Stratham and Windham as well as Dover, NH. Lassel Architects was involved in the design process for the reuse of the old public works site along the river. We have been working with the city over the past several years on reuse options as a stimulus for positive growth.
Washington Street Study
The City of Dover requested initial design studies for developing the Washington Street corridor, leading from the center of town to new riverfront developments on the opposite side of the river. Urban plans, elevations and perspective drawings were submitted.
